In Inverness and Loch Ness
When you come to the Highlands of Scotland, you will definitely want to take back home something to remember your time here. Fortunately, we have plenty of shops here, from small, independent boutiques to large department stores.
You could spend a quality day strolling around Inverness city centre, taking in all of the gift shops and market stalls. Then head over to the bigger shops for an afternoon. Or, take a trip around this area of the Highlands at the small boutique and gift shops that the Highlands has to offer. So many options! Here are some of our favourites.
Inverness City Centre
From boutiques to department stores
Inverness has plenty of shopping options for you. Strolling around the 200-year-old Victorian Market, for example, can feel like you’ve travelled back in time. There are lots of beautiful little shops here, all selling gorgeous stuff. Find something special at one of the jewellers, taste some Scottish chocolate at a sweet shop or take home some tartan from a souvenir shop.
Whatever you are looking for, Inverness can provide. If you need some big-name brands, then a trip to Eastgate Shopping Centre is called for. Here, you will find the sort of stores you would expect in any big city – M&S, QUIZ, Fat Face and loads more. Take some time in our Inverness shopping centre and stop for a coffee and bite to eat too.
If you can get a bit further out of town, there’s also Inverness Shopping Park. There’s more big names here, as well as a cinema for catching up on the latest releases.
In Inverness and Loch Ness
Take, for example, Campbells of Beauly. If you are looking for a high-quality country tailor and outfitter, there probably is no better here. After all, this is where the Royal Family come for their tartan wear. The shop is worth a visit of itself, with some of the original fixtures and fittings still there from 1858.
If you’re looking for stylish gifts on a trip around Loch Ness, it’s worth stopping off at An Talla by Loch Ness. Fortunately, this isn’t too far away from us at Highland Lassie! Here you’ll find a farm shop and restaurant. You’ll also find a wonderful space full of beautiful Scottish gifts. From hip flasks to woollen scarves, you’re sure to find something to your taste here.
And finally, what would a trip to Loch Ness be without taking home Nessie? A visit to the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition in Drumnadrochit can provide you with a stuffed Nessie – and more!
So make sure you put some time aside to enjoy shopping in Inverness and around Loch Ness. You never know what you might find!
This must be Inverness’ best kept secret, my wife and I each had three generous courses, the food, all locally sourced was cooked to perfection and was well presented. The menu although not extensive has something for all tastes and theres also a daily specials board. The venue is small and intimate, its comfortable and welcoming. The service was excellent. Well done I will definitely be back.
